Kuchai Uptown sits in Kuchai Lama, southern Kuala Lumpur, as Phase 2 of the Kuchai Sentral integrated development, with a complimentary shuttle to MRT Kuchai Lama on the Putrajaya Line and six highways within minutes. It is a mature suburb rather than a new township, which means the shops, schools, hawker food and clinics already exist. Here is what the address means for the commute and the week.
By train
MRT Kuchai Lama is on the Putrajaya Line, the line that runs from Kwasa Damansara through Sentul, Titiwangsa, TRX and Chan Sow Lin down to Putrajaya. Kuchai Uptown runs a complimentary shuttle to the station, so the first leg of the commute is a short ride rather than a hunt for parking. From Kuchai Lama station, TRX and the city centre are a direct ride with no change of line, and KL Sentral is one interchange away. Check the current shuttle timetable at the viewing and match it to your office hours; it is the detail that decides whether you keep one car or two.
By car
Six highways are within easy reach: the MEX towards KLIA and Putrajaya, the KL–Seremban Highway, SMART, KESAS, the NPE and the Federal Highway. In practice that covers the city centre, Mid Valley and Bangsar, Petaling Jaya and Subang, and the airport, each by a different route, which matters when one of them is jammed. Kuchai Lama’s own exits are busy at peak hour, as every mature suburb’s are; the shuttle and the MRT are the answer on the days you do not want to drive.
Downstairs
Kuchai Uptown is built above its own retail: groceries, cafés, eateries and everyday services at ground level, with office space in the development as well. Add the one-acre linear park running through the scheme and the swimming pool, gym and sky lounge on the facilities deck, and most of a weekday can happen without leaving the block. The neighbourhood
Kuchai Lama is one of southern KL’s most established suburbs, between Old Klang Road and Sri Petaling and minutes from Mid Valley. It is self-sufficient, with a strong local food culture and a long-settled community, and it is getting a second rail line: an MRT3 Circle Line interchange is planned for Kuchai Lama, which would connect the Putrajaya Line here to the rest of the orbital network.
